Why is it jacked up like that?

Also the side-indicator(s?) look original. Did you try for those?

Shyam, This was a picture taken more than six months ago, at Dadar - Mumbai.
I do not know whom it belongs to and why it is jacked up like this.
However, as you can see it is definately beyond restoration.
The side indicator is not so good in condition either. Similar brand new ones close to the original types are now easily available in mumbai.

Incidentally, some of these indicators also came with green lenses! I managed to get one some time ago.

it is a very old picture Dussey. today the car would not even be there in the same place, it would have burried itself. i found the picture so i thought i would share. we had asked for the car but were refused saying the person would not part with it.

BOSS this picture is more than 5 yrs old, very close to my house in shivaji park. the car is now in madras if i am not mistaken nearly restored. A Jain temple stands where this garage stood.

Nope, according to the lettering on the photo it was shot in 1944!

I had always heard of a car of similar description at Dadar, at some point I think engine also had dissapeared. I wonder that was true and the same as this.

If it is being restored, thats fantastic.

EDIT - v12, that was probably kasli's article in BSMotoring. kasli is Speedy's brother.
