Two cars that were offered for sale, but i think they belong to this especially keeping in mind the prices asked for them.

The station wagon is a Morris Z type van and the sedan a Singer SM1500.

The beauty of them both is in their ugliness. Initially I had my doubts whether the Morris was a local conversion, but I did find something similar online. Note the sloping grille combined with mounted headlights - I have not seen this combination before.

I agree somehow I am also attracted to the uniqueness of the cars appeals to me, also this particular version is quite rare as it has windows at the back. I was tempted to buy it but so much is missing that its not even worth it, imagine the front bonnet and doors are missing, plus the body has been modified inumerably.the interior is a bare shell. Its best to let them rest in peace or pieces.Especially when the price is 2 lakhs for the duo.

First one is a Dodge Sedan chopped into a convertible and the 4x4 looks like some kind of Russian or Jap military vehicle

It is identical to the dodge kingsway mentioned in this thread earlier, much earlier. if its for sale , someone should take it up and restore it.

Oh yeah, I'd been emailed pics. of this car (albeit not as detailed) before by another teambhpian. He also took pics. of another Herald that seemed to have fallen to pieces and was covered in grey primer, lying just adjacent (to the left) of this Herald. Is that car still around pavan?
But what a pity- this seemed to have been a real original car! to the 'authorities' who let it rot like this!
'wish I could have the sunvisor off this car atleast!

Manish, any chance of trying and seeing if the engine also was a Herald one?? I badly need a tappet cover so if this engine had it I'd like to take just that. Could you try and find out sometime

You can be almost sure it would have a Herald gearbox as well. The combo of Herald engine gearbox was a very common transplant to Minors.

The first two are those of a mid 1950's Dodge Kingsway whose hood has been chopped off.
The two lower pictures are those of the Russian Military Jeep known as the UAZ 469. It was the Red Army jeep that was in production since 1972 that was powered by the Peugeot Citreon 2500cc/72 bhp engine-was a turbo diesel perhaps. These were sold in Europe too and the older 1980's Auto Express car buyers guides features it.
