That is a 1956 model Dodge Kingsway. Assembled in Kurla, Mumbai by Premier Automobiles.

These 2, a Plymouth and a Chevy are parked at Manipal at a heritage museum called Hasta Shilpa. Seem to be up on blocks, not sure of the condition. Frankly, don't know enough about classic cars to even know if they qualify as classics. But just thought I'd post them.

Found something interesting on Instagram. Two 7272 Impalas, both red in colour, both with chopped roofs, both Tamil Nadu registered and probably both ‘Baarat Gaadis’.

The first one, TMI 7272 has been posted by iaew.garage. This car seems to be a former Baaarat car that has now been lovingly restored. Needless to say, the chopped top and other alterations have ensured that this car can never be original again. However, the fact that it is at least now in good shape and will hopefully stay on the roads is obviously better than seeing it rotting away in a scrap yard.











The other red 7272 Impala with a chopped roof has been posted by auto.curator. This one is a text book case of a dieselized baraat Impala that is now being sold for such a price that it will probably remain unsold for a really long time. This one seems to be in bad shape.

Some vintage/classics spotted in South Mumbai today..

A 90 year old Parsi gentleman with his 90 year old Austin (2nd owner and he has owned it for 50 years)

Karlos, I found a picture of what looks like a pre war Austin 7 in a restaurant. I think this was in Pune and associated with one of your posts? Is that correct and can you tell me the name of the restaurant and ideally their contact details? By the way your posts are all interesting!
I am finding BHP hard to use so you could reply to my email nickbomayne@tiscali.co.uk I am looking for interesting pictures of Austin Sevens abroad (not the other models) to possibly use for the major A7 Centenary in July this year 2022. There will be over 1000 A7s there!

There used to be a Ruby saloon in the porch of a restaurant called Portico on J M road. The restaurant is long gone, wonder what happened to the car

That's Mr Dabholkar! He's been maintaining his car and most importantly driving it for a very very long time. He is also not a Parsi.

Thank you for correcting me. Never asked him his name and since he mentioned he worked with Air India back in the day and flew with senior Tata’s I assumed he must be a Parsi. My bad.

Correct. Mr Dhablokar however did buy this car from the first owner in Poona who was a Parsee.
The way the car has been looked after for the past five decades, I vote to make Mr Dhabolkar an Honorary Parsee
