^^^^^^^^ it’s not that I suffer from ADHD, but when I look at a garage like this, I am starting to cringe and I want to start cleaning out this mess right away!

. How can anybody make such a mess in a garage with two such nice classics? Each to its own, but as would sort it immediately

Vintageman owns not only these 2 but over a dozen such classics , its a man cave of a different dimension.

While I agree that it looks a bit scattered in the pic , but to sit amongst these classics and have a cup of tea is a experience that I have had the privilege to have , and I can say it has a charm of its own

Jeroen : Yours garage sets the Gold level standard of POCD for me always !

Hello Jeroen,

I appreciate your views, the photograph is in a public domain, and is, as such open to criticism, you may also be justified in your comments, but, I think that you have been a wee bit hasty in your condemnation.

I specified it is a garage/ workshop. I am of the older generation and vintage garages used to look like this (in UP) when these cars were actually mode of transport before they became museum exhibits.

The family had a big laugh as they have been after me for years to clean up.

I am privileged, that, I can do my own restoration. I am a blue collar, nuts an bolts person who does his own frame off restoration at home. I have averaged a restoration every year for the last 22 years - this includes - the bodywork, mechanicals, engine overhaul, painting, upholstery and the work extends to running defects.

The Packard is there for renewal of window glass and the Plymouth for gear box overhaul, the patina of dust is justified (in my opinion in a vintage garage)

As for the quality of restoration, please refer to:
https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/pre-w...outh-pe-2.html (Restoration of a 1934 Plymouth PE)

By hook or by crook, I have done the job
Other restoration projects have been detailed on this forum in the past.

Salman, thank you for your spirited defence

As for the garage/ parking, which is distinct from the garage/ workshop, I hope the following photographs will change your opinion

I have always believed there is nothing better than a actual vintage and there my AJS helps me in making the point, a working motorcycle which is visually an actual antique.

I so totally agree. Nothing beats an original paint and patina on a vintage bike. That's the trend these days.

Re: Pics: Vintage & Classic cars in India

Thanks for your response. Excellent to hear you are a hard core vintage car restorer. All mess and untidiness is forgiven!

Very impressive work, love it! Very nice cars. These are all quite a bit older than the classics I typically work on. And I have yet to do a full restoration too. So far, mostly tinkering and fiddling.

I hope you keep the restoration pace up and share some more. Looking forward to it.

Re: Pics: Vintage & Classic cars in India

Here is a very interesting one - a 1950s Alfa Romeo sedan seen in an advertisement for Paragon shoes. It is undated, but I assume the 1980s or 1990s. The car is definitely shot in India, note the PUC sticker on the windscreen. Does anyone remember this car? I've never seen or heard of it before.

Even I am like that . I cant stand the sight of an unorganized mess. It could be some form of OCD. I don't mind making a mess in order to get the task done, but it needs to be tidied up and organized as soon as the work is over. Those who have watched the Television sitcom 'F.R.I.E.N.D.S' must have noticed one of the main character 'Monica Gellar' to exhibit a similar behavior.

Back to the topic of Vintage cars, I saw this car being worked upon in a garage near my FNG 2 years back. I have no clue what the make is, only a cleaner was there on the premises and he didn't have much idea too. I don't even know if this is a fake or a real thing. The creepy doll head on the top of the car didn't make me stay any longer. Took the picture with permission and left. Any idea about this vehicle ?

Re: Pics: Vintage & Classic cars in India

Went to do PDI of my car today at the TATA service center in jaipur, the stockyard was on top of the service center but on the ground floor away from the service bays there were 5 vintage vehicles parked and under covers. The only one uncovered was this ford estate car. Apart from the dust the car looked in a good condition.
