Any more details on it or more pics. Who owns it now and what is the status on the restoration.

Is it the "Silver Arrow"

Hi Wasif

Here are a couple of them from the Kanpur & Lucknow Vintage Rallies 2010 thread on this forum. Some details have also been mentioned in the Lucknow Rally thread.

Do try to find out more on them. These are very very rare bikes, much rarer than say a contemporary Harley or Indian.

Where did this bike in Delhi come from.

Wasif and 82rawath,
The bike is definitely not an AJS or a Matchless Silver Arrow. It is a Harley Davidson and as per the picture of the engine number it is a 1931 Model D 750cc. Another give away are the front forks which were typical of the Harley's from that period and not commonly seen on British bikes apart from the Brough Superiors.

Earlier(about 15 years back) these "parachutes" were available in the junk market in my city for anywhere between 800 - 2000 rs but now the prices have gone up like anything. The last one which got sold about 8 years back(still running condition) was sold for 40000 rs.

There are 2 of them which I know are for sale at very steep prices(and when i say steep they are really steep) if you are still interested PM me.
