Two points. That red Merc is either a 170V with a 4 cylinder engine. If it has 6 cylinders as stated, then it is not a 170 V.
That Morris woody is an ad-on, sometime back this car was apparently offered as a 1914 model!

Cheers harit
Harit ,

Your information network is amazing , does any vintage information escape your network ???!!!

The Morris woody is a joke with the vernacular press quoting and publishing an article regarding the car and stating the owner's claim for the car's ancestry , it's a waste of time trying to explain things to conmen and the vernacular press . Another ongoing farce in Lucknow.

The red Mercedes is a 6 cylinder car .

Well Lucknow might have lost a couple of Rolls and the Minerva ( Mahmoodabad ) and there was a Pierce ( Utraula ), Isotta ( Kotwara ) and 2 - 12 cylinder Packards - with Sir Wazir Hasan and maybe Mankapur with Lucknow ownership , but other than these we may just have turned the corner in stopping the car drain from here . Cars were sold by the erstwhile princely states all over India . Hopefully we will be increasing the local inventory.

Though it would be nice to if the younger generation became more active in preserving local vintage cars .

The Mercedes looks like a 230 similar car with SANGHI and the Mortis was a few years back for sale old memories.

Re: Vintage Car Rally at Lucknow

Seems that another UP Car has landed in Bangalore. This 1950 Chevy Convertible sure will be a nice car when fully restored.

Katarniaghat Vintage Drive

Trouble free the vehicles carried on their run and reached Oel(Lakhimpur Kheri) around 122 Kms from Lucknow. At the Farm House of Kr PND Singh there was a well laid out Lunch for the participants. With the picturesque background of an artificial Lake it was all but like a dream for all. Almost all the vehicles had reached Oel by 12 noon and were flagged off by the District Magistrate of Lakhimpur Mr Samir Verma for the onward journey to Katarniaghat at around 1.45. PND Singh joined the run in his Willys Jeep. We thereafter reached Motipur Forest Range at around 5 pm which is the starting point of Katarniaghat National Park and around 45 Kms from Katarniaghat Forest Rest House.
At Motipur after a Tea Break, the vehicles resumed the last leg of the journey, reaching Bhinga Raj Tiger Tents covering a total distance of around 260 Kms from Lucknow. Raja CK Singh of Bhinga who is also the President of the Katarnighat Foundation, a NGO to promote Katarniaghat, welcomed all the participants. The location is right on the Banks of the Huge Girwa River flowing from Nepal. The place is being developed to accommodate people in Swiss Tents.
Thereafter the participants settled down in their respective Cottages of the Forest Department and The Irrigation Department. Dinner was clubbed with a get together with the Katarniaghat Foundation members and the Ranger of the Katarniaghat Forest Mr Shukla. Foundation members and the ranger briefed the participants on the katarniaghat forest and the need to conserve and protect the same. Next morning at 5.30 AM, lot of participants went for the Forest Safari inside the Jungle, covering an approx distance of around 25 Kms. Animals spotted included Swamp Deer, Chital, Wild Boars, Blue Bulls and a Leopard. Tiger however remained elusive.
After the jungle safari and a breakfast the participants were taken to a Boat Ride arranged by the Forest Department in the Girwa River. Lots of Ghariyals were seen along the banks. Jungle Fowls were a plenty on the way and the river side was dotted with Cane Forest. Migratory Birds had left a little time back and the Dolphins had gone further deep in the river.
Photos attached.

Appreciate the initiative taken by the UP tourism too.
