Just a thought why don't you look at the baleno. For this price you can get a mid spec baleno with most of the features of the swift including airbags in a bigger spacious and a newer car. The swift has been practically unchanged since 4 years so if you have a nexa outlet nearby you should give it a look.

Would love to go for the Baleno. But Dad said, he cannot handle the size and preferred Swift. Baleno is one gem of a car :thumbs up

Just booked my first new car:
Ford Figo 1.2 Petrol Titanium in Chill.
Dealer: Lathangi (tempted to call it Latt-hanigae or rolling pin in Kannada) Ford, Bangalore
Booking Date: 14 April 2010
Sales person says 6 weeks during test drive, 2 weeks when taking the booking. I believe 6 weeks.
Have asked for the USB port, front & rear fogs, sun film.
No freebies given, none expected.

Almost 6 years on, I have decided to upgrade. I have just booked:
Suzuki S-Cross 1.6 Zeta Premium Silver
Dealer: Kalyani Nexa, JP Nagar, Bangalore
Booking Date: 06 April 2016
Expected Delivery Date: 2nd week of May
Cost on-road Bangalore: 14,24,000 (after discounts)
Discounts: 35K off the on-road price
Freebies: Mud flaps and car cover. Opted not to go for the "standard" accessory set. No other freebies asked for. Did not like the floor mats - they looked either cheap or tacky or both.

Will look for insurance deal outside, and most probably refuse the dealer offered insurance.

Sales experience was OK, nothing special, but not bad either. Got 2 test drives (one short, one really loooong) before making the booking.

Decided to go for the Zeta variant (instead of top end Alpha) because
1. Wife simply can't abide by leather. Hates that material - especially the way it smells
2. I find auto headlamps and rain sensing wipers irritating
3. Had budget of 15 lakhs, wanted to spend on after market alloys and tyres

I will miss climate control and HID headlamps (standard on Alpha variant), though.

Congratulations on your new car. The waiting period looking like a month. Why are the waiting periods for all cars increasing so much. Decision on standard accessories seems reasonable. You can always upgrade to HID lamps later.
Wishing you many munching miles.
Cheers!

Congrats on your new ride and wishing a safe ride ahead. When it comes to the missing list you can add cruise control as well. Strangely though Maruti skipped this in 1.6 Zeta whereas 1.3 Zeta has this feature. :Frustrati

Just booked Brio VX AT Urban Titanium Metallic at Pride Honda, Madhapur, Hyderabad. 2016 Jan Mfd, onroad price was 7,61,194. Zero dep insurance from bharti axa and no extended warranty nor honda connect. Freebies were the mats and cover only. Delivery is next week. Good overall experience at this dealer.

So I cancelled my Baleno and booked a Honda Jazz ivtec and go the vehicle in 1 week's time. The reason for canceling was prolonged waiting time and nil responsible communication from the dealership. Even on the promised date, they were not clear if they would receive the vehicle or not and I was on waiting list #9 apparently. I didn't want to wait for my car like a railway reservation ticket indefinitely and besides, I stopped feeling premium about the Suzuki's brand image due to this marred experience.

Anyhow, Honda offered cash discount and free accessories and I am driving my car instead of dreaming about it :-)

I will post ownership review soon.

Thanks

Firstly, Congratulations!

I'm just curious. Was the decision based on a requirement for a small car?

At that price you would have easily accommodated the Baleno zeta petrol which has more features and space (Elite i20 sportz as well). Any specific reason for going the Brio way?
I guess the SX variant of amaze petrol should be around 8L on road as well.

So finally after a lot of confusion between premium hatchbacks, compact Suv's, compact sedans, I have finally booked :
Make : Skoda
Model : Rapid

Fuel : Petrol
Booking date : 8th May 2016
Color : Silver

Dealer : Nawab motors, Noida
Freebies : extended 4th year warranty, Reverse camera

Thanks Vamsi. Yes, our requirement was a small automatic hatch with primarily city usage and for a first time driver in my better half. So our choices were Celerio Zxi AMT (O), Brio VX Auto and Micra CVT and in that order. Celerio Zxi AMT with optional pack weren't being dispatched and after two months of waiting we had to cancel our booking. Baleno CVT in Zeta variant that was recently launched wasn't available for test drive, was bigger as in its in the next premium hatch segment closer to the 4m mark and also had a much longer delivery times (> 2 months when we checked). We could have gone with Micra CVT which is another good choice in this segment but we went with Honda for the peace of mind from its wider sales and service network.

Congrats on your booking KiloAlpha. Coincidentally we're in the 2nd week of May and just a little curious to know if you've got any confirmation on the delivery date yet. Though Nexa dealers / MSIL is not keen on selling the lower variants of S-Cross 1.6 :Frustrati, One of my friend here in Bangalore is planning to book 1.6 either in Delta or Zeta variant as he is already on a stretched budget and cannot go beyond that. Would be eagerly waiting for your response. Thanks in advance :)

I upgraded to Alpha variant, and got delivery last week. Lower variants of 1.6 are, after all, being phased out. See the S-Cross official review thread for more info (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/offici...al-review.html).

Congratulations KiloAlpha, sorry I missed that post hence asked the stupid question :Frustrati. Wishing you good luck and lots of happy miles crunching the DDIS 320 clap: Could you please share the Nexa RM details so that I can see if there is any possibility of getting the Zeta 1.6 variant for my friend?
