Finally took the plunge to book Alcazar 1.5 Turbo DCT.

Evaluated Jeep Compass, Hyundai Creta and Tucson. In fact I went ahead and booked Tucson last year, but then changed it to Alcazar recently, 2 main reasons being the cost, ease of driving it in the city and the features you get for the price you pay, which is real value for money. Of course Tucson is a different segment with more powerful diesel engine and luxurious interiors, but Alcazar isnt far behind. I wasnt sure about Tucson ADAS features compatible in Indian road conditions, which finally tilted it towards Alcazar.

I had updated in one of my ownership threads I guess.

Maruti Truevalue did a major mess up with buying back my celerio. I had to cancel the transaction. Hence the purchase plan was put on hold as I still have the celerio with me. I don't think I will go ahead with punch anytime this year.

I just saw that the delivery was planned for 14th June as per your quoted post. Could you share the reasons for delay?

Sorry, my bad.. I mentioned wrong month in both posts.

Date of Booking was 10th July and Delivery Date was 14th July, the delivery was done in 4 days from booking.

Did you get the BS6 Phase 1 Or RDE update? Here in Noida, I enquired, most dealers are offering only upto 1- 1.25 lakh discount on diesel RDE variants.

It's the RDE variant, I know the dealership and the owners personally, our family and friends have purchased over a dozen cars from them already since 2019. We also got similar discounts as @yedukrishnan199 got. Considering most dealerships were in a rush to clear out their inventory, he must have got it at this price after some good bargaining. We, however, didn't even have to ask.

It's the RDE variant, they were trying hard to sell the X-Line because it hardly had any takers, I was at the right place at the right time to swoop in on a great deal, call me opportunistic!

• Would be buying insurance outside as they said matching the online quote (ICICI Lombard) I shared would be difficult.
• I sold my Alto 800 to them for 2.3L. Amount to be adjusted during final payment.
• Only the booking amount has been paid so far. Said rest after PDI.
• On 20 July, I was told that a vehicle has been billed to me but is yet to be dispatched from Tata's Pune plant. Apparently, it is waiting for a truck allotment. I have been hearing this every day now :sadface
