Congrats iSpoke! Lovely choice there. 6.67 OTR is a steal IMO.

Please do start your ownership thread soon and do flood it with pics of the 1.6. Did you look at Polo 1.6 before finalizing?

Congratulations! I knew you would go for 1.6 over 1.2. Wise choice.
Very good discounts. Glad that you waited so long. I remember before the price increase (around March) with discount price was around 6.75 Lacs.
So, this is a good deal. However, I think you need to put 100% of 5697 below and then deduct the 50% discount amount (2848) from that number.
OTR : 7,02,110 + 50% of 5,697 (Skoda Assure) = 7,04,959/-
BTW: What is chamois leather? Is it for cleaning?
Waiting for your ownership thread.

re: The "I Booked my Car" Thread

hey SUN, thanks buddy.
you are correct in calculating total discounts, that way it would have looked even better discounts! Anyways, we all try out best to get the best bargains and I'm very sure anybody who would have paid couple of thousands here and there will be equally happy with the car.

Chamois Leather is a fairly good piece of leather cloth with exceptional absorbing qualities. A wiki search revealed that it would have derived from Chamois (a goat-antelope species native to mountains in Europe)! Till now I too were not aware that Chamois is the name of an animal/species.

Hey raVan, demand for Verna is so much that the dealers here in Hyderabad are not ready to give any discounts or freebies. Will speak to them anyways on the freebies part but discounts are none...

@ Alam.. I did ask the dealer, but he couldn't answer to my satisfaction. However, on searching the forum, found out that Vidyut has answered the same on one of a thread:

Thanks to him!

re: The "I Booked my Car" Thread

Make : Volkswagen
Model : Polo
Variant : Trendline
Fuel : Petrol
Booking Date : June 31st, 2011
Color : White
Expected Delivery Date : 07 July 2011
Dealer & City : Thane Volkswagen
Freebies : Mud Flaps, Matting
Price: OTR: 4.85 L (After corporate discount, Free Insurance, Exhange Bonus of 15K), Further could take accessories worth 13000 free so opted for Fog Lamps by further paying 2000 (Cost of Fog Lamps 15K).

I know its on higher side but there are hardly any accessories I could buy from them. I wanted to put my own ICE so did not opt for thiers. This is the reason I opted for Trendline. And paying 60K extra for Comfortline does not make sense beacuase only difference is Body colours handles and OVRMs, Driver height adjustable seat, Parcel tray and real seat 60:40.
