2018 Range Rover caught testing in Mumbai

A camouflaged test mule of the 2018 Range Rover facelift has been spotted in Mumbai. This suggests that Land Rover might be planning to launch the SUV in India in the near future.

The fourth-generation Range Rover was unveiled at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, while the latest facelift made its debut at the Los Angeles motor show in October 2017. As part of the update, the Range Rover receives a reworked front end featuring a new grille and bumper as well as new headlights with integrated LED DRLs. The rear features vertically stacked twin-pod LED tail lamps, rectangular dual-exhaust tips and a roof spoiler. The test car is seen riding on 10-spoke silver finish alloy wheels.

On the inside, the new Range Rover receives a Touch Pro Duo infotainment system, which has been borrowed from the Velar. It comes with a dual 10-inch touchscreen setup that replaces conventional buttons on the centre console. It gets new front seats with heated armrests and 4G Wi-Fi hotspot for up to 8 devices.

Currently, the Range Rover is available in 5 trim levels - Vogue, Vogue SE, Autobiography, SV Autobiography Dynamic and SV Autobiography Long Wheelbase. Engine options range from a 3.0-litre, V6 diesel with 255 BHP and 600 Nm and a 3.0-litre, supercharged V6 petrol with 335 BHP and 450 Nm to a 4.4-litre, V8 diesel with 335 BHP and 740 Nm and a 5.0-litre, supercharged V8 petrol producing 518 BHP and 625 Nm. The top-spec SV Autobiography Dynamic gets a 543 BHP and 680 Nm version of the same 5.0-litre, supercharged V8. All engines are paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and a 4-wheel drive system.

The 2018 Range Rover also comes in a P400e plug-in hybrid variant. It is powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder Ingenium petrol engine paired with an electric motor producing a combined output of 410 BHP. However, this variant is unlikely to be offered in India.
