2019 BMW S 1000 RR launched at Rs. 18.50 lakh

BMW Motorrad has launched the 2019 S 1000 RR in India. The superbike is available in three variants - Standard, Pro and Pro M Sport priced at Rs. 18.50 lakh, Rs. 20.95 lakh and Rs. 22.95 lakh (ex-showroom, India) respectively. It will be imported as a completely built unit (CBU).

BMW S 1000 RR has been redesigned for the 2019 model year. It gets new twin LED headlights and a revised fairing. The bike has a 6.5-inch instrument cluster, stepped seat and LED turn signals, tail lights and brake lights. It is available in two colour options - Racing Red and a triple tone of Light White / Lupin Blue Metallic / Racing Red.

The new S 1000 RR is powered by a 999cc, in-line 4-cylinder engine that produces 204 BHP @ 13,500 rpm and 113 Nm of torque @ 11,000 rpm. According to BMW, the engine is now 4 kg lighter and narrower than before. The bike has four riding modes - Rain, Road, Dynamic and Race.

BMW ShiftCam is a variable camshaft control technology that is claimed to provide improved low and mid-range torque. The S 1000 RR rides on upside down fork suspension at the front and a monoshock at the rear. It gets disc brakes at both ends. 

The bike comes equipped with ABS, traction control, launch control and wheelie-control. The M Package adds features such as carbon fibre wheels, lightweight battery and M Sport seat. The Dynamic Package comes with electronic Dynamic Damping Control, heated grips and cruise control.
