All-new Superb featured on Skoda India website

Check out Team-BHP's detailed preview of the B8 Superb here.

Skoda's absence from the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo deprived many of the opportunity to check out the car in the metal. However, Skoda hasn't held back on promoting the saloon and the next-generation Superb has now been featured on the company's official website, alongside the outgoing model.

Skoda has been testing undisguised test mules of the new Superb for a few months. The car's engines are from VW's EA211 & EA888 series (also found in the Octavia). Internationally, the car gets a range of 4-cylinder, turbocharged, transverse engines with options including 1.4L, 1.8L and 2.0L petrol units (TSI) along with 1.6L and 2.0L diesel engines (TDI).

In India, the Superb is likely to be powered by a 1.8-litre TSI petrol and a 2.0 TDI diesel engine offered with manual and DSG gearboxes. The car comes with front-wheel drive as standard and while an all-wheel drive version is available, it remains to be seen if it will be offered in India.

The new Superb is 47 mm wider than its predecessor, and taller by 6 mm as well. The wheelbase is now 80 mm longer, while the overall length has increased by 28 mm. The new Superb (B8) skips the B7 platform and draws its design inspiration from the VisionC Concept that was showcased at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.

Features include three zone climate control, a sliding and tilting panoramic sunroof, rain and light sensors, power adjustable front seats, park assist, a rear view camera and a 6.5" touchscreen infotainment display that supports MirrorLink, Android Auto & Apple CarPlay.

Those interested in the car can register their email and contact details on the website to receive updates directly from Skoda. The car's launch is expected in mid-2016.
