Say, we all fall into these 2 categories:
What is the best car garage you will have that satisfies the following criteria (number of cars can be any)?
My choice would be:
PS - Only pure ICE cars due to the fair comparison and since the EV is still at a nascent stage with only limited options.
Here's what GTO had to say about the matter:
I love these kinds of dreamy threads. As enthusiasts, we have to maintain passion in our choice of garage but equally, in India, a certain amount of practicality has to be there.
- For 60 lakhs, I'd go for a pre-worshipped German sedan and a Thar. I'll soon have this kind of garage. Takes care of speed, practicality & style.
- For money no object, an S-Class is a must-have in the house (would prefer the W222 generation), with a top SUV (Defender or Range Rover), and a 911 / 488 for fun.
Here's what BHPian DicKy had to say about the matter:
Ooh, fantasy buying thread. Love them.
To keep it simple, am assuming it is just new cars or not older than five years, otherwise my list would be endless.
- Achievable spend - Innova 2.8 + Ignis
- Money is not a constraint - Vellfire + Defender D90 or G class + BMW M2 or 911
Here's what BHPian 07CR had to say about the matter:
- Achievable spend - Toyota Fortuner (Miss the Endy)/Lexus ES 300 H, Kia Sonet D AT (for city use)
- Money is not a constraint - GLC/X7 + Mini
Here's what BHPian vikramvicky1984 had to say about the matter:
Isn't the actual middle-class garage in India as follows:
- Lower middle class: 1 Activa or Splendor
- Middle middle class: One Activa/Splendor for each earning / college-going member + 1 Wagon R/i10 which is the pride of the family and does 25k kms in 10 years.
- Upper middle class: Activas + one Bullet/budget car+ Creta/Honda City which does 20k in 10 years.
The above examples are for millionaires and multimillionaires. Billionaires would have private jets and yachts plus a dozen cars they don't remember the names of.
Polo which is mentioned multiple times is a rich man's car in spite of its price. It is beyond the middle class' risk appetite given its reputation for maintenance costs. Only the brave or enthusiasts head to German showrooms.
