BMW Motorrad announces India entry, price list revealed

BMW Motorrad has announced its official entry into the Indian two-wheeler market. The company will operate as a part of BMW Group India. BMW bikes were previously available in India only through a couple of private importers with sales outlets in Mumbai and Delhi.

The company is still in the process of completely setting up its sales channel in the country. It is initially aiming to set up authorized dealerships in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Mumbai and Pune. At present, the company has 11 models on sale in India. All these bikes will be brought into the country through the CBU route. The bike maker's first locally manufactured product - the G 310 R, is expected to be launched by the end of this year.

Following is the list of BMW Motorrad bikes that have been launched in India(all prices ex-showroom, Delhi):

1. BMW R 1200 GS
It is powered by a 1,170 cc, flat-twin engine that churns out 109 BHP @ 7,750 rpm and 120 Nm @ 6,000 rpm, while being mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

• Dynamic+ - Rs. 19 lakh
• Pro - Rs. 19.50 lakh

2. BMW R 1200 GSA
The R 1200 GSA is an adventure version of the regular R 1200 GS. It comes with a retuned 1,170 cc, flat-twin engine rated at 123 BHP @ 7,750 rpm and 125 Nm @ 6,500 rpm. Transmission unit is the same 6-speed gearbox
• Standard - Rs. 17.50 lakh
• Dynamic+ - Rs. 20.90 lakh
• Pro - Rs. 21.40 lakh

3. BMW S 1000 RR
It is equipped with a 999 cc liquid cooled engine, which develops 196 BHP @ 13,500 rpm and 113 Nm @ 10,500 rpm, while being mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
• Standard - Rs. 18.90 lakh
• Pro - Rs. 21.40 lakh

4. BMW S 1000 R
It is a naked version of the S 100 RR. While the engine on offer is the same 999 cc unit, it has been detuned to 158 BHP @ 11,000 rpm and 112 Nm @ 9,250 rpm.
• Standard - Rs. 16.90 lakh
• Sport - Rs. 17.90 lakh
• Pro - Rs. 18.90 lakh

5. BMW R 1200 R
The R 1200 R is BMW's flagship naked roadster. It is powered by a 1,170 cc, flat-twin engine that churns out 123 BHP @ 7,750 rpm and 125 Nm of torque @ 6,500 rpm.
• Standard - Rs. 14.90 lakh
• Exclusive - Rs. 15.40 lakh
• Style - Rs. 15.50 lakh

6. BMW R Nine T
The R Nine T is a classic tourer that is powered by a 1,170 cc, flat-twin power plant rated at 109 BHP and 119 Nm of torque. Transmission duties are handled by a 6-speed gearbox.
• Standard - Rs. 17.90 lakh

7. BMW R Nine T Scrambler
It is powered by the same 1,170 cc flat twin engine that is found on the regular R Nine T. However, the engine has been retuned to develop 116 Nm of torque, while the power output is identical (109 BHP).
• Standard - Rs. 15.90 lakh

8. BMW R 1200 RS
The R 1200 RS is powered by a 1,170 cc, flat twin engine rated at 123 BHP @ 7,750 rpm and 125 Nm @ 6,500 rpm, while being mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
• Standard - Rs. 15.90 lakh
• Dynamic+ - Rs. 16.90 lakh

9. BMW S 1000 XR
The S 1000 XR is BMW's first adventure sports bike. It is powered by a 999 cc, liquid-cooled engine that churns out 158 BHP and 112 Nm of torque.
• Standard - Rs. 18.50 lakh
• Pro - Rs. 21.50 lakh

10. BMW R 1200 RT
Powering the R 1200 RT is a 1,170 cc, flat-twin engine that develops 123 BHP and 125 Nm of torque, while being mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
• Standard - Rs. 18.50 lakh
• Pro - Rs. 21.90 lakh

11. BMW K 1600 GTL
The K 1600 GTL is BMW Motorrad's premium flagship tourer that is offered with a 1,649 cc, 6-cylinder engine that churns out 158 BHP @ 7,750 rpm and 175 Nm @ 5,250 rpm.
