BMW X5 M spied ahead of launch

BMW is expected to launch the X5 M and X6 M in India soon. Earlier this week, spy shots of the two vehicles surfaced on the internet for the first time. Now, the X5 M has been spotted again.

The X5 M is the high performance version of the X5 SUV, engineered by BMW's M Division. To differentiate it from the regular X5, BMW has given it an M body kit, restyled bumpers with larger air intakes, a redesigned rear spoiler, M badges, 20-inch M alloy wheels and chrome-finished quad exhausts.

The interiors of the X5 M feature sports seats with red upholstery, a black dashboard and centre console with red and brushed aluminium detailing, M steering wheel, instrument cluster, gearshift knob and door sills, and an infotainment system with a stand-up display screen.

The X5 M powered by a 4.4-litre V8 turbocharged petrol engine that develops 567 BHP @ 6000-6500 rpm and 750 Nm of torque @ 2200-5000 rpm. The X5 M has an xDrive all-wheel drive system and an 8-speed M Steptronic dual-clutch automatic transmission. BMW claims that it can touch 100 kph from a standstill in 4.2 seconds and hit a limited to speed of 250 kph. The brakes of the car are more powerful than the regular X5.

BMW will bring the X5 M to India through the CBU route.
