Construction of VinFast's Indian factory to begin on February 25

VinFast plans to introduce 2-3 electric SUVs in India, starting with the VF e-34 crossover.

Vietnamese EV maker VinFast has announced that construction work on its first manufacturing unit in India will commence on February 25.

Last month, VinFast signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the government of Tamil Nadu to set up a factory in Thoothukudi. The company plans to invest US$ 500 million in the first phase of the integrated EV facility. 

According to the company, the new manufacturing facility will have an annual production capacity of up to 1,50,000 units. The factory will not only serve the Indian market but will also supply EVs to South Asian, Middle Eastern and African countries. It is expected to generate 3,000-3,500 job opportunities.

VinFast plans to introduce 2-3 electric SUVs in India, starting with the VF e-34 crossover. The carmaker also plans to bring the VF6 and VF7 electric SUVs to India.
