Cool trick: Ford Figo & Aspire have automatic idle shutdown

The Ford Figo, Aspire and Freestyle have a feature that shuts down the engine if it is left idle for 30 minutes.

The Ford Figo, Aspire and Freestyle have an Automatic Engine Idle Shutdown (AEIS) feature that some owners may not have been aware of.

This feature was not mentioned in the owner's manual and therefore, Ford has sent an email to customers explaining this feature.

As per the description, the car would shut down on its own if left idle for 30 minutes. The car can be restarted as usual. According to Ford, this preventive feature helps save battery and fuel.

AEIS is only available on the Figo, Aspire and Freestyle that are equipped with keyless entry and engine start / stop button.

Ford has updated the owner's manual to explain this feature. It can be downloaded from Ford India's website.
