Fernando Alonso to make F1 comeback in 2021

Fernando Alonso will be making a comeback to Formula 1 in 2021.

The 2-time world champion will drive for Renault. He has signed a 2-year deal with the French team and will team up with Esteban Ocon. Alonso will replace Daniel Ricciardo, who will be moving to McLaren next year.

The Spaniard has an illustrious history with Renault. He won the Driver's World Championship titles in 2005 and 2006 in a Renault F1 car. In 2007, Alonso moved to McLaren and returned to Renault a year later. In 2010, Alonso joined Ferrari.

Alonso has been away from Formula 1 since leaving McLaren in 2018. While he was away, he won the Le Mans 24 Hours twice with Toyota. He also entered the famous Indy 500.
