Ferrari will officially unveil its first-ever SUV, the Purosangue, on September 13, 2022. Alongside the unveil date, the Italian supercar brand released a new teaser image showcasing the SUV's front end with its angled LED headlamps.
The Ferrari SUV will be underpinned by a brand new platform, designed for front mid-engined supercars. The new architecture will further be able to accommodate V6, V8 or V12 engines, with or without hybrid assistance and paired to a transaxle dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The architecture can also be adapted for varying wheelbases, allowing for either 2, 2+2 or 4-seater cabins. Further to this, the platform also offers flexibility to use either two or four-wheel-drive configurations.
The Ferrari Purosangue will be powered by a naturally-aspirated V12 engine. However, power and torque figures are yet to be officially announced.
Inside, the Ferrari SUV will come packed with a host of features and tech, including a new steering wheel, new infotainment unit, a digital instrument cluster, a heads-up display, rear-seat entertainment and new cabin controls; among plenty others.
Once unveiled, the Ferrari Purosangue SUV will take on the likes of the Lamborghini Urus Performante, Aston Martin DBX 707, Bentley Bentayga W12 & the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT.
