Fiat Avventura bookings commence

Fiat India has started accepting bookings for the upcoming Avventura crossover.

Revealed at the 2014 Auto Expo earlier this year, the Avventura is based on the Punto hatchback. However, increased ground clearance, more muscular styling, projector headlamps, restyled bumpers, roof rails, body cladding and a tail gate-mounted spare wheel give it a more rugged look compared to the Punto.

The Avventura sports the similar interiors to the Linea facelift and the recently launched Punto EVO with some additional gauges, such as compass, roll-and-tilt meter and inclinometer.

The Avventura is expected to be available with a choice of two engines:

  • 1.4-litre, 4-cylinder petrol producing 89 bhp and 115 Nm of toque
  • 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder diesel producing 92 bhp and 209 Nm of torque

A 5-speed manual gearbox is likely to be the only transmission to be offered.

The Avventura is expected to be launched next month and will compete against other hatchback-based crossovers such as the Volkswagen Cross Polo and Toyota Etios Cross.
