Ford unveils Figo Aspire compact sedan

Ford has unveiled the upcoming Figo Aspire compact sedan at its new plant in Sanand, Gujarat. The car will be manufactured at the Sanand plant and will go on sale later this year. It will also be exported to various countries around the world.

At less than four metres in length, the Figo Aspire will be a rival for the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent and Tata Zest. It has a trapezoidal grille with horizontal slats, swept-back headlamps, raked-back windshield and sweeping lines. The car has a blackened B-Pillar, ORVMs with turn-indicators, 8-spoke alloy wheels and a chrome strip running across the boot lid.

Coming to the interiors, the Figo Aspire gets a dashboard inspired by the Fiesta and EcoSport. It will have leather seats, multiple storage spaces, and a device dock which allows the driver to store, mount and charge mobile phones, MP3 players and satellite navigation systems, and to integrate these devices into the car’s entertainment system. Customers can also buy a variant of the Figo Aspire equipped with Ford's SYNC with AppLink in-car connectivity system. SYNC with AppLink allows drivers to control their phone, entertainment and apps hands-free using voice commands.

Safety features include a passenger cage created from high-strength steel, driver and passenger airbags, side and curtain airbags and Emergency Assistance, which uses a Bluetooth-paired phone to automatically call emergency responders and provide information about your vehicle and location in the event of an accident.

The Figo Aspire will be available with a choice of two engines - 1.5-litre TDCi diesel and 1.2-litre TiVCT petrol.
