Honda CBR 650F launch on August 4, 2015, bookings open

Honda has announced that it will launch the CBR 650F motorcycle in India on August 4, 2015. Dealers have started accepting bookings for the bike. The booking amount is set at Rs. 50,000.

The CBR 650F is a fully faired sports tourer with a steel diamond frame, a telescopic fork suspension at the front and a monoshock at the rear. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels shod with a 120/70 section tyre at the front and a 180/55 section tyre at the rear. The bike has a 17.3-litre fuel tank and kerb weight of 211 kg.

Powering the CBR 650F is a 649cc, inline 4-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, 4-stroke petrol engine that develops 86 BHP @ 11,000 rpm and 63 Nm of torque @ 8,000 rpm and is mated to a 6-speed transmission.

Braking duties are taken care of by 320 mm dual disc brakes and a single 240 mm disc brake at the front and rear respectively. ABS is available as a part of standard equipment. The bike is expected to be available in only one colour scheme - red / white / blue.

The CBR 650F motorcycle will be assembled at Honda's plant in Manesar, Haryana. Honda is positioning the CBR 650F against the Kawasaki Ninja 650, Triumph Street Triple 675 and Ducati Monster 790.
