Honda India imports components for the BR-V

Honda has imported components for the BR-V compact SUV into India. These part have come from Indonesia, where the car is manufactured.

The move indicates that the company might start manufacturing the car in India soon. It is also possible that the parts have been imported for having a trial production run.

Honda unveiled the BR-V prototype at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show earlier this year, (click here to read report). The company then went on to release images of the production version of the vehicle (click here to read report).

The BR-V Earlier is expected to be powered by the 1.5-litre, i-VTEC petrol engine that is found in the City. The unit produces 118 BHP @ 6,600 rpm and 145 Nm of torque @ 4,600 Nm of torque.

There are also rumours of a 1.6-litre diesel engine being developed for the car.
