Why?
I wanted a bike that offered a relaxed and comfortable ride with a upright seating position — no sporty, aggressive riding posture. I've always admired the way Royal Enfield bikes look and drive, influenced by the nostalgia of seeing them around my hometown since childhood.
Shortlisted Choices
I was confused between the Honda CB350 and the Royal Enfield Classic 350. After reading multiple reviews and user experiences, I realized that while the CB350 is technically a better bike in some aspects, it lacks the relaxed city ride feel that the Classic 350 is known for. Plus, Honda hasn't quite captured the cult following that Royal Enfield commands.
To be sure, I visited the Royal Enfield showroom a few times with my family to test drive the Classic 350 and get a feel for the bike. After some back and forth, I finally made up my mind — the Classic 350 was the one.
Colour Choice
Choosing the color was surprisingly tricky. Royal Enfield limits factory-fitted alloy wheels to their Dark Edition models (Stealth Black, Grey, and Signals), which narrowed down my options.
I was initially drawn to the Chrome variant, but the thought of long-term maintenance put me off. My first choice was the Stealth Black (pre-Dec 2025 facelift), but the facelift changes — particularly the blackened fuel tank and redesigned RE logos — didn’t appeal to me. My second choice was Gun Grey, which ultimately became the winner.
Booking
I booked the bike on 22nd February at Saravana Motors, Hosur. The bike was readily available at the dealership, and they confirmed that delivery could be arranged after full payment. I completed the payment on 1st March and scheduled the delivery for an auspicious day — 2nd March.
Delivery
Delivery day was exciting! We visited the showroom on 2nd March, where the staff handed over a helmet and a welcome kit worth ₹1,000 (included in the booking charges). Interestingly, they offered to swap the welcome kit for other Royal Enfield accessories. I traded it for a miniature RE Himalayan model, which my son had loved from our very first showroom visit.
Showroom Experience
I booked the bike at Saravana Motors, Hosur. The staff were consistently polite and supportive throughout the process. I made several visits to the showroom — sometimes just to see the bikes and gather information — and they were always welcoming. I also test-drove the Classic and the Meteor twice before finalizing my decision.
Family Experience
My son and wife were both thrilled with the purchase. My son has a deep love for bikes and cars, so it was no surprise that he fell for the Classic 350 at first sight. What surprised me more was my wife’s immediate approval of the Classic 350 and she was fully on board.
How Is the Bike?
The Classic 350 looks stunning with the new LED headlamps and indicators while preserving its vintage charm. Even though Royal Enfields have become more common on the road, the Classic 350 still turns heads.
