Indian Scout Bobber launched at Rs. 12.99 lakh

The Indian Scout Bobber was launched during the India Bike Week 2017 in Goa. The bike is priced at Rs. 12.99 lakh (Ex-showroom, India). It is available in five colour options – Thunder Black, Bronze Smoke, Star Silver Smoke, Indian Motorcycle Red and Thunder Black Smoke.

The Scout Bobber shares its frame and powertrain with the Indian Scout. The overall length of the motorcycle is 2,229 mm and it is 926 mm wide and measures 1,154 mm in height. The seat height is 649 mm, while the wheelbase of the bike is 1,562 mm. It weighs 242 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 12.5 litres.

The bike gets raised handle bars, a low slung, dual-tone leather seat and forward mounted foot pegs. The Scout Bobber gets a black headlamp surround and a circular instrument pod which is also finished in black. Similarly, most of the exposed engine, crankcase, radiator fairing, rear swing arm and running gear are all finished in black. The twin side-mounted exhausts are painted black as well. It gets twin LED tail lights that have integrated turn signals.

Furthermore, it rides on 120-mm telescopic forks in the front and dual 50-mm shocks in the rear. The bike is equipped with 16-inch cast alloys painted in black and shod with 130/90 and 150/80 section tyres in the front and rear respectively.

The Scout Bobber is powered by a 1,133cc, liquid cooled, V-twin engine that produces 94 BHP and 97.6 Nm of torque @ 6,000 rpm and paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Unlike other bikes, the Scout Bobber has belt-type final drive. Braking duties are handled by 298 mm disc brakes at both ends with a 2-piston caliper in the front and a single-piston caliper in the rear.

The Indian Scout Bobber will compete with the likes of the Moto Guzzi V9 Bobber and Triumph Bonneville Bobber in the Indian market.
