Isuzu MU-X: Prices slashed by Rs. 1.5 lakh due to GST reforms

Isuzu has passed on benefits of the upcoming GST tax reforms to customers by slashing prices of the MU-X by Rs. 1.5 lakh. Post this price cut, the SUV will be priced at Rs. 22.4 lakh for the 4x2 AT trim and Rs. 24.4 lakh for the 4x4 AT variant (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).

The SUV was launched recently at prices in the range of Rs. 23.99 lakh to Rs. 25.99 lakh. However, with GST being implemented from July 1, 2017, large SUVs will be eligible for a lower tax rate. The cumulative taxes applicable under the current taxation system are over 53%. However, with the new GST norms, large SUVs have been put under the 43% tax slab, which will bring down the final prices. Isuzu has thus pre-forwarded the said benefits to customers by making the aforementioned price cut within just a month of the MU-X's launch.

The automaker has also slashed prices of the D-Max V-Cross, which is now priced at Rs. 12.7 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The pick-up has thus been given a price cut of around Rs. 60,000.
