Jeep Meridian to be unveiled on August 26

The Jeep Meridian will compete with the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour in the 7-seater SUV segment.

Jeep is set to unveil its Compass-based 3-row SUV on August 26, 2021. The SUV will be called the 'Meridian' in India and it's likely to go on sale sometime next year.

In India, the Meridian is likely to be offered in 6-seat and 7-seat configurations, with the former getting separate captain seats for the 2nd-row. The SUV is expected to come loaded with premium features such as a panoramic sunroof, digital instrument cluster, wireless charging and a larger touchscreen infotainment system.

Reports suggest that the Meridian will be offered with a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine with a 48 V mild-hybrid system. The engine is likely to be paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission.

The Jeep Meridian will compete with the likes of the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace, Skoda Kodiaq, MG Gloster, Toyota Fortuner and the Ford Endeavour.
