Kia has released design sketches of the upcoming Carens "recreational vehicle".
The Kia Carens features the brand's 'Tiger Face' design at the front with a highlighted intake grille. There are LED headlamps with Y-shaped LED daytime running lights on either side.
Moving to the rear, the Carens gets Y-shaped tail lamp clusters with a light bar in between. The vehicle features flared wheel arches, roof rails and a roof spoiler.
The interior of the Carens looks clean and minimalistic. There is a wraparound dashboard with a large touchscreen infotainment system in the centre and a 3-spoke steering wheel.
The Kia Carens is expected to share its platform with the Seltos and could use the same 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. In the Seltos, the 1.5-litre petrol engine puts out 113 BHP and 144 Nm, while the 1.5-litre diesel makes 113 BHP and 250 Nm. While the petrol engine comes paired with either a 6-speed manual or CVT, the diesel gets a 6-speed manual transmission only.
The Kia Carens will make its global debut on December 16, 2021.
