Kia has announced a recall for the EV6 electric SUV sold in India for a software update.
1,380 units of the EV6 manufactured between March 3, 2022, and April 14, 2023, have been recalled. The software update for the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) is said to improve the charging process and performance of the 12V auxiliary battery.
This is not the first time that Kia has recalled the EV6 in India. The EV was last recalled in July 2024, after it was discovered that the ICCU would stop charging the 12V auxiliary battery, which provides power to the lights, music system and start/stop function.
The latest recall affects the same pre-facelift EV6s sold in India as before.
Kia will be reaching out to customers to notify them about the recall.
