Kia has teased an upcoming variant of the Seltos. Dubbed as 'Project X', the new offering could be similar to the X-Line concept that was showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo.
The Project X could essentially be a "dark edition" of the Seltos. If you recall, the X-Line concept featured a similar dark theme. It had a blacked-out grille and alloy wheels, black badges and a sportier body kit with orange details.
The Project X could be offered with the same set of engines as the regular Seltos. These include a 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 113 BHP and 144 Nm, 1.4-litre turbo-petrol unit that makes 138 BHP and 242 Nm and a 1.5-litre diesel that puts out 113 BHP and 250 Nm. While the petrol engines come paired with either a 6-speed manual, 6-speed iMT (1.5L Petrol only) or 7-speed DCT (1.4L T-GDI only), the diesel gets a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic option.
At the moment, the Seltos variant line-up is split between Tech-Line and GT-Line. Whether the new variant will be positioned above the GT-Line remains to be seen.
