Land Rover Discovery Sport launch on Sept 2, bookings open

Land Rover has announced that it will launch the new Discovery Sport in India on September 2, 2015. The company has also announced that it has started accepting bookings for the car.

The Discovery Sport is expected to be equipped with xenon headlamps, LED fog lamps, leather seats, electrically adjustable front seats, 5+2 seating configuration, panoramic sunroof, four-wheel drive with a terrain response system and park assist among other features.  The SUV is also expected to get Land Rover's new InControl 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

The Discovery Sport is likely to be powered by a 2.2-litre, turbocharged diesel engine in 188 BHP and 147 BHP states of tune with a 9-speed automatic transmission.

Land Rover will bring the Discovery Sport to India via the CKD route. It will be assembled at the Jaguar Land Rover plant in Chakan, near Pune.
