Lewis Hamilton wins the 2018 Abu Dhabi GP

Lewis Hamilton has won the 2018 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which was the last race of the Formula 1 season. Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel came second, while Red Bull's Max Verstappen secured the final podium place.

Daniel Ricciardo came fourth in the second Red Bull car ahead of Mercedes' Valteri Bottas. Renault's Carlos Sainz finished in sixth place followed by Sauber's Charles Leclerc. Force India's Sergio Perez finished in eighth place, while his team mate Esteban Ocon had to retire.

A first lap collision between Romain Grosjean and Nico Hulkenberg caused the latter’s car to flip and remain upside down. Grosjean went on to finish the race in ninth place. Kevin Magnussen in the Haas rounded off the top ten.

McLaren's Fernando Alonso finished outside the points in eleventh place. He has retired from Formula 1 after this race. Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen, who will be moving to Sauber in 2019, faced engine troubles in the early part of the race and had to retire.

Lewis Hamilton has won the World Drivers' Championship, while Mercedes has won the World Constructors' Championship for 2018.
