Maharashtra: Now take learners' license test online

Aspirants will be able to take the online test using Aadhar-based authentication.

Individuals applying for a learners' license in the state of Maharashtra will now be able to take the test online from the comfort of their home.

As per a new directive, the Maharashtra State Transport Department will allow aspirants to take the online test using Aadhar-based authentication. This facility will be available in the next 2-3 days.

The test will consist of a few online videos on road safety, followed by a quiz. Aspirants will be required to answer 60% of the questions correctly to clear the test. Those who clear the test will be able to download and print their learners' license themselves.

The new system is expected to help reduce footfalls at RTOs, weed out illegal agents and reduce corruption. It will save a lot of time and money for the citizens and also decrease the burden on the staff.

The state has also made the vehicle registration process completely paperless. The new system streamlines the whole process and allows dealers to submit vehicle registration documents online.
