Mahindra Maxximo Plus facelift spotted testing

Mahindra has started testing a facelifted version of its Maxximo Plus LCV. The test mule of the vehicle has been spotted on the roads of Chennai.

Pictures obtained by Motorbash indicate that the front fascia of the Maxximo is camouflaged. This would mean that changes to the headlamps, grille and bumper are likely.

The pictures of the test mule also show the vehicle carrying loads, which means that Mahindra could have made upgrades to the engine.

At present the Maxximo Plus is powered by a 909 cc, twin-cylinder, diesel engine that produces 26 bhp @ 3600 rpm and 55 Nm of torque @ 1800-2200 rpm. A 4-speed manual gearbox is used to transmit the power to the wheels. The engine comes with "Fuel Smart" technology, which allows the driver to switch between Power and Eco modes depending upon the needs. The vehicle has a payload of 850 kg.

Tata Motors recently launched a refreshed version of the Ace LCV, the Maxximo's direct rival, in the market. Mahindra will not want to be left behind and should bring out the facelifted Maxximo Plus shortly.

In addition to the Maxximo Plus facelift, Mahindra is also developing the P601 LCV.
