Mahindra TUV300 launched in India at Rs. 6.90 lakh

Mahindra has launched the TUV300 in India at a price of Rs. 6.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune).

The TUV300 measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,835 mm in width and 1,839 mm in height. It has a wheelbase measuring 2,680 mm. It uses a chassis derived from that of the Scorpio and is available in six body colours - Verve Blue, Dynamite Red, Molten Orange, Glacier White, Majestic Silver and Bold Black.

The TUV300 has a boxy body made of steel with 5 doors and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel. The vehicle has a grille with vertical slats with chrome inserts, static bending headlamps, roof rails and alloy wheels. The vehicle has short overhangs and the front bumper houses a pair of fog lamps that have accents.

On the inside, the TUV300 gets a 5+2 seater configuration. The front seats have armrests and lumbar support. The vehicle has black and beige interiors, a hexagon-shaped center console with a piano-black centre fascia, air-conditioning, a 2-DIN infotainment system with Bluetooth, USB and AUX-in connectivity. Audio and phone controls are mounted on the steering wheel and there is a twin pod instrument cluster. The vehicle has a luggage space of 384 litres which can be expanded to 720 litres.

Other features include intellipark reverse assist, voice messaging system, driver information system, follow me home and lead me to vehicle headlamps, Mahindra’s BlueSense mobile app and micro-hybrid technology. On the safety front, the TUV300 gets features as dual airbags, ABS with EBD, CBC (corner brake control) and automatic door lock.

The TUV300 is powered by a 1,493cc, 3-cylinder mHawk80 diesel engine. This unit has a 2-stage turbocharger and delivers 84 BHP @ 3,750 rpm and 230 Nm of torque @ 1,500-2,250 rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission. Higher variants of the vehicle are available with a 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT) as well. The engine is equipped with an ECO mode function and the vehicle has an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency figure of 18.49kmpl. There is a brake energy regeneration system as well.

The TUV300 is available in seven variants - T4, T4+, T6, T6+, T6+ Autoshift, T8 and T8 Autoshift.
