March 1, 2016: Petrol price slashed, diesel hiked

The price of petrol has been reduced by Rs. 3.02 per litre in India from March 1, 2016. However, diesel is now more expensive by Rs. 1.47 per litre. With these changes, petrol now costs Rs. 56.61 per litre in Delhi, while diesel is priced at Rs. 46.43 per litre.

Fuel prices are increased or decreased every fortnight according to international crude oil rates and the Rupee - US Dollar exchange rate.

On February 18, 2016 the price of petrol was cut by 32 paise, while that of diesel was hiked by 28 paise.
