Maruti Suzuki Jimny’s base Zeta variant spotted

Bookings for the Jimny 5-door are already underway. Prices will be announced later this year.

Maruti Suzuki unveiled the India-spec Jimny 5-door at the recently concluded Auto Expo 2023. The SUV will be offered in two variants: Zeta and Alpha. Here’s how Jimny looks in base trim.

The first thing you notice on the Zeta variant of the Jimny is the wheels. The base variant doesn’t get alloy wheels, however, we quite like the look of the steel wheels. It also gets black bumpers, fenders, and a fabric cover for the spare wheel.

Inside, the entry-level Jimny gets a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, air-conditioning, keyless entry and steering-mounted audio control.

In India, the Jimny will be available with a 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 103 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 134.2 Nm @ 4,000 rpm. The engine is paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission and Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro all-wheel drive system.
