Maruti Suzuki to launch Vitara Brezza on March 8, 2016

Maruti Suzuki has announced that it will launch the Vitara Brezza in India on March 8, 2016.

Maruti had unveiled the crossover at the 2016 Auto Expo in February. The Vitara Brezza measures less than 4 metres in length, which will make it eligible for excise duty benefits. Maruti will pit it against the Ford EcoSport.

At launch, the Vitara Brezza will be powered by the familiar 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine sourced from Fiat. This engine produces 89 BHP and 200 Nm of torque and is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. A petrol engine is expected to be offered at a later stage.

The Vitara Brezza is expected to be available in the LDi, LDi (O), VDi, VDi (O), ZDi and ZDi+ grades. The ZDi+ is expected to be equipped with features such as LED DRLs, projector headlamps, dual airbags, ABS, climate control and a SmartPlay infotainment system.

The Vitara Brezza will be sold through Maruti's regular dealerships and not through the NEXA premium dealer network.
