MINI Cooper S Carbon Edition launched; Amazon bookings open

MINI has launched the Cooper S Carbon Edition in India. The car is available for booking on e-commerce portal, Amazon. The Cooper S Carbon Edition is priced at Rs. 39.90 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be brought into the country as CBU (Completely Built Up) units. Only 20 units of the car are available for booking.

For the Cooper S Carbon Edition, MINI has added the John Cooper Works Tuning Kit to the stock Cooper S. As a result, the 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine develops 207 BHP and 300 Nm of torque. This translates to a gain of 19 BHP and 20 Nm over the standard Cooper S. There is no change in transmission as the car still uses a 6-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters.

The Carbon Edition also gets added John Cooper Works features, including a valve exhaust system with sport and track model, Bluetooth exhaust control, an aerodynamic body kit, matte black sport and side stripes with red piping, carbon fibre tailpipe, and black 17-inch cosmos spoke alloys. JCW badging is also found at the door sills and the leather wrapped steering wheel.

The interiors get John Cooper Works sports seats, which are wrapped in black Alcantara upholstery with red stitching.

Safety features on offer include front and passenger airbags, brake assist, 3-point seat belts, dynamic stability control, crash sensor, anti-lock braking system, cornering brake control and run-flat indicator.
