New car launches in India in January 2024

Here is a look at all the important car launches expected to take place in January 2024.

Hyundai Creta facelift

Hyundai has released a few teaser images of the upcoming Creta facelift. Dealerships have started accepting pre-bookings before the official launch scheduled for January 16.

The Hyundai Creta facelift will likely get the same powertrain options as the updated Kia Seltos. These include 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines along with a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol unit.

Kia Sonet facelift

Mechanically, the updated Sonet is identical to the outgoing version. It carries forward the existing 1.2-litre petrol mated with a 5-speed manual, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol, which comes with either a 6-speed iMT or 7-speed DCT and a 1.5-litre diesel engine that is offered with a 6-speed manual, 6-speed iMT and 6-speed automatic.

Deliveries of the Sonet facelift will commence in January 2024, except for the Diesel iMT variants, which are scheduled for February 2024.

Mercedes-Benz GLS facelift

Mercedes-Benz India is all set to begin the new year with the launch of the GLS facelift on January 8, 2024.

Currently, the GLS is available with a 3.0-litre diesel engine paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. The facelift version is likely to get the same engine.

Mahindra XUV400 EV facelift

Mahindra is gearing up to introduce the XUV400 facelift soon, and it seems the electric SUV will also get two new variants. As per the latest leak, the updated model will come in EC Pro and EL Pro variants.

The electric SUV will be offered with two battery options – a 34.5 kWh battery with 250 km of real-world range and a 39.4 kWh unit offering 290 km of maximum range.

A test mule of the 2024 Maruti WagonR facelift was spotted testing last month.

The 2024 Maruti WagonR is expected to carry forward the same set of engines as before. These include 1.0-litre and 1.2-litre petrol units. A CNG version will also be on offer, while transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT.
