Next-gen Ford Figo hatchback spotted testing in India

Recently we had revealed that Ford had imported the next-generation Ford Figo for research and development. Now the hatchback has been spotted testing on the roads of Pune. The car is expected to replace the current Figo in mid-2015.

Engine options for the Figo hatchback are likely to include 4-cylinder 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel units. A 3-cylinder 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol without that turbo could also be used.

Ford unveiled the new Figo as the Ka in Brazil. It uses Ford's new design language with an Aston Martin-like, hexagonal front grille. There will also be a compact sedan based on its platform, which will replace the ageing Ford Classic sedan.

The Ford Figo hatchback and compact sedan are likely to be rolled out of Ford's new plant located at Sanand in the state of Gujarat.
