Next-gen Skoda Octavia : More details

Skoda has released more details of the next-generation Skoda Octavia.

The new Octavia measures 4,689 mm in length, 1,829 mm in width and has a wheelbase of 2,686 mm. It has a 600-litre boot, which is 10 litres larger than the outgoing model. The car is said to have a drag coefficient of 0.24.

The car has redesigned grille with narrow LED headlights and LED tail lights. Higher variants get full LED Matrix headlights. On the inside, the Octavia gets a new 2-spoke multi-function steering wheel, a redesigned dashboard and centre console, door trims as well as a floating infotainment head-unit. It comes with heated and cooled seats with massage function, while sports seats are optional. Other features include 3-zone automatic climate control, head-up display, 10-inch digital instrument cluster and an optional Canton Sound System.

In global markets, the new Octavia will be available with turbocharged petrol, plug-in hybrid, diesel and CNG powertrain options. These include a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, 109 BHP petrol engine, a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol producing 148 BHP, a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol making 188 BHP and a 1.4-litre plug-in hybrid in 201 BHP and 241 BHP states of tune.

The 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine will be available in two states of tune - 148 BHP and 197 BHP. The CNG variant will be offered with a 1.5-litre turbo petrol unit that produces 129 BHP.

The new Skoda Octavia will be launched in the second week of November 2019.
