Next-gen Skoda Superb caught testing in Austria

The new Superb is likely to be launched in India this year and could be assembled locally.

Skoda released the first teaser of the next-generation Superb in April this year. Now, the first spy images of the car have surfaced online.

The new-gen Skoda Superb test mule was spotted in the Austrian Alps reportedly undergoing brake tests. The car has a low-slung grille with vertical slats, flanked by slim LED headlamps. The front bumper has a wide air dam with vertical vents on either side.

The rear end of the Superb almost looks Audi-like with slim tail lamp clusters. The car also appears to have a pair of reflector strips on the rear bumper. Also, note that the wheels on this test car are equipped with specialized testing equipment.

According to media reports, the new Superb is likely to be launched in India this year and could be assembled locally. While technical details of the new model are scarce, reports suggest that the Superb could be offered with strong-hybrid powertrain options.
