Nissan Ariya all-electric crossover unveiled

Nissan has taken the wraps off its all-electric crossover called the Ariya.

The Nissan Ariya looks unlike any other SUV in the brand's line-up. It measures 4,595 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width, 1,655 mm in height and its wheelbase is 2,775 mm. The car has an imposing trapezoidal grille that has been blanked-out and slim LED headlamp clusters. It has dark tinted tail lamps and dual shark-fin antennas.

The interior design looks minimalistic with a simple dashboard that appears to have haptic buttons. There is a touchscreen infotainment screen and a digital instrument cluster. The car comes with autonomous driving tech including ProPILOT 2.0 driver assistance system, ProPILOT Remote Park and e-Pedal features. It supports over-the-air (OTA) updates and has in-built Alexa assistant. Other safety aides include 360-degree camera, Forward Collision Warning, Emergency Braking and Rear Automatic Emergency Braking.

The Ariya will be offered in 2-wheel drive and e-4ORCE all-wheel drive versions. The Ariya 2WD will be available in two configurations with an output of 215 BHP / 300 Nm and 239 BHP / 300 Nm. The base 65 kWh variant has a claimed range of up to 450 km, while the 90 kWh variant has a range of up to 610 km. The claimed top speed is 160 km/h.

The all-wheel drive model also comes in two configurations - 335 BHP / 560 Nm and 389 BHP / 600 Nm with battery capacities of 65 kWh and 90 kWh respectively. The base variant offers a maximum range of up to 430 km, while the latter has a claimed range of up to 580 km. The claimed top speed of the all-wheel drive model is 200 km/h.
