Pioneer releases App to control its head-units

Pioneer has announced the launch of a smartphone application called ARC (Advance Remote control), which will enable its users to control and play various music sources and apps in their smartphone by operating a Pioneer audio receiver or a smartphone.

It will also enable users to manage their contacts and calls and control selected third party apps like navigation to get turn-by-turn guidance through the car's speakers.

The app has large icons and a touch and swipe interface. It features a two display mode (vertical and landscape) and a customizable theme colour along with an album artwork. It is also compatible with Mixtrax, which is a technology that creates a non-stop music mix with a range of effects.

No extra cables are required to be bought to use the app's features. Users just need to connect their phone with the head-unit through the phone's charging / USB cable and access the features through ARC app.

The app can be downloaded through Google Play Store and Apple iTunes.

Compatible Pioneer products:

ARC compatible products include the FH-X389UB, DEH-X4890BT, DEH-X1890UB, MVH-X189UI, DEH-X3890UI and DEH-X6890BT.

Pioneer ARC compatible phones include Android phones with OS 4.1 and above, iPhone with iOS 8 and above.
