Royal Enfield 650 Twins launched in the US

Royal Enfield has launched the Continental GT 650 and Interceptor INT 650 in the US. The bikes are priced at US$ 5,999 and US$ 5,799 respectively. Both bikes will be available in Custom and Chrome themes as well. These are priced at US$ 6,249 and US$ 6,749 respectively for the Continental GT 650 and US$ 5,999 and US$ 6,499 respectively for the Interceptor INT 650.

Both bikes are based on a tubular, double cradle frame. While the Continental GT 650 is a cafe racer style motorcycle, the Interceptor INT 650 is a street bike with a teardrop shaped fuel tank and a twin seat. Both bikes get a round headlamp of 7-inch diameter and a twin-pod instrument cluster. The cafe racer gets clip-on handle bars, while the street bike comes equipped with raised handle bars. The Continental GT 650 comes with a unique fuel tank design and optional single seat configuration.

The Continental GT 650 and Interceptor INT 650 share the same 648cc, parallel twin-cylinder air-cooled engine. It produces 47 BHP @ 7,100 rpm and 52 Nm of torque @ 4,000 rpm and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox via a slip/assist clutch. Both bikes ride on 41 mm telescopic front forks and twin coil-over shock absorbers at the rear and come with 18-inch wire-spoke wheels. The braking setup consists of a 320 mm disc at the front and 240 mm disc at the rear. ABS comes part of the standard package.
