Rumour: Kia Carnival MPV to be launched in 2020

According to a media report, Kia is likely to launch the Carnival MPV in India sometime in early 2020. An updated version of the Carnival is expected to be presented at the 2020 Auto Expo.

The Kia Carnival, also known as the Grand Carnival and Sedona in the international market, measures 5,115 mm in length, 1,985 mm in width and 1,740 mm in height with a wheelbase of 3,060 mm. It is available in 7, 8 or 11-seat configurations. Reports suggest that Kia might offer the 7-seat version in India.

The Carnival has a typical tiger nose grille at the front with twin-pod headlamps and LED fog lights. It has dual-tone bumpers and wraparound tail lights. The Carnival is likely to get power sliding rear doors. It has dual-tone interiors with a 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel, twin-dial instrument cluster with a central MID and a touchscreen infotainment system.

In India, the Carnival is likely to be offered with a 2.2-litre, turbocharged diesel engine that produces 199 BHP @ 3,800 rpm and 441 Nm @ 1,750-2,750 rpm. The engine could be mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Reports suggest that the Carnival could be positioned above the Toyota Innova Crysta when it arrives in the Indian market.
