Tata to launch Altroz & Punch CNG in H1 of FY2023

Unlike other CNG-powered cars, the Altroz and Punch are equipped with two smaller CNG tanks of 30 litres each.

Tata Motors showcased the CNG versions of the Altroz and Punch at the Auto Expo 2023. The carmaker has now confirmed that both cars will be launched in India in the first half of FY2023.

The Altroz iCNG and Punch iCNG will share the same 1.2-litre petrol engine. This motor develops 84 BHP and 113 Nm. When running on CNG, the overall output drops to 76 BHP and 97 Nm.

Unlike other CNG-powered cars, the Altroz and Punch are equipped with two smaller CNG tanks of 30 litres each. This allows the tanks to be fitted in the boot floor, which helps liberate a lot of luggage space.

As far as features are concerned, both iCNG versions come equipped with a fair bit of kit. This includes a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an electric sunroof, automatic climate control with rear AC vents and 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, among others.
