Tata Zest website goes live

Thanks to Sanket Adhikari for bringing this to our notice.

Tata Motors displayed the Zest compact sedan at the 12th Auto Expo, which was held at Greater Noida in February 2014. Now the company has launched a dedicated website, which gives us a glimpse of what to expect in the car.

The Zest features a new grille and new projector headlamps at the front. The rear of the car gets forward pointing wrap-around tail lamps.

On the inside, the Zest has been given a new steering wheel, a new dashboard, instrument cluster and rugby shoulder seats. There is a touchscreen, which is used to control the AC as well as the multimedia system. The audio system comes with a auto volume adjust function. The multimedia system features smartphone connectivity and satellite navigation. The Zest is equipped with speed-sensitive electric power assited steering.

Under the hood there is a choice of two engines - petrol and diesel. The petrol engine is Tata's new 1.2-litre, turbocharged, Revotron unit, which develops 85 PS @ 5000 rpm and 140 Nm of torque @ 1750-3000 rpm. The diesel engine is the familiar 1.3-litre, Quadrajet motor, which produces 90 PS @ 4000 rpm and 200 Nm @ 1750-3000 rpm. The Zest can be driven in three modes - cruise, economy and sports. The website also says that the diesel will be available with an automated manual transmission.

There is no mention of the launch date of the Zest on the website.
