Volvo crosses 10,000 units production milestone in India

Local assembly of Volvo cars began at the brand’s Hoskote plant in 2017.

Volvo has announced the rollout of the 10,000th made-in-India vehicle. The milestone vehicle happened to be the all-electric XC40 Recharge.

Local assembly of Volvo cars began at the brand’s Hoskote plant in 2017. It took 6 years for the company to cross the 10,000 units production milestone.

The first model that was built at the Hoskote facility was the XC90. With over 4,000 units sold, the XC60 makes up the majority of cars produced to date. Today, the XC40 Recharge is one of the best-selling models in India for Volvo, with over 500 units sold.

In 2023, Volvo registered a growth of 31% compared to the previous year. The carmaker sold 2,423 units, including 921 units of the XC60 and 180 units of the XC40 Recharge.
